Mentorship program

seniors have a wealth of knowledge

Our communities are filled with knowledgeable, savvy, and experienced seniors with a desire to share their experiences and skills.

By initiating a senior mentorship program, we:

  • Provide a job opportunity for seniors in our community.
  • Allow seniors to earn extra income to help supplement their retirement.
  • Allow seniors to pass on much needed skills to our students.
  • Provide our students positive social interaction with seniors.
  • Provide an avenue for senior citizens to stay connected to their community and have a positive impact on our young adult students.

transportation service

  • Skills Academy will provide transportation for students that require it.
  • Skills Academy can currently transport 14 students.
  • Skills Academy will work with Metro Mobility arranging transportation as the school grows.

Additional services

Skills Academy has a goal of offering its students a way to earn additional income or to do volunteer work through many different programs:

  • An online Boutique to sell arts and crafts.
  • A greenhouse to grow and market vegetables and herbs to local restaurants.
  • A sewing and quilting program to make items to sell at craft fairs.
  • Volunteering opportunities with local charities and food banks/pantries.
